Now I'm no expert on european pop, and I often marvel at how Poppostergirl, Dontstopthepop and Troy can keep up with it all. Nick AlienHits knows all the decent euro acts and has introduced me to many over the years, way before popjustice gets it's hands on them. So below are 3 reviews of albums/eps that have particularly stood out for me these past couple of weeks. I've chosen best boy, best girl and best group, though I have to say I am totally enjoying the latest albums by Sanna Nielsen, Charlotte Perelli and Sister Love, though I am saving my thoughts on those for Eurospecial 2 coming next week. Anyway, I have disabled comments on today's three albums so all comments can be collated here ;)

ReplyDeleteI'm quite excited for Isabel also - the tunes on her myspace sound amazing. BeFour - i'm not sure of yet, I do like the singles i've heard but i think i would just buy a greatest hits album from them rather than a studio album... and Juvelen! WOW! This Nick Alien Hits has impeccable taste :P

Ben ~ I think BeFour do actually work better as a singles act (as did Steps) Juvelen and Isabel are rather glorious actually though. And yes, Nick has impeccable taste and is a super nice guy.

ReplyDeleteI'm STILL waiting for class to start - still an hour and a bit to go. I have a 5 hour break today and I didn't bring any work along with me because I didn't think my friends would leave me. But they did, so isn't that sad? Oh sob!

Before this, I was just calling people, complaining to them about how bored I was so I guess it's your turn now!
Euro pop is something I never listen to, I don't think. There's just too much music in the world to catch up to!
I'll stick to Asian music (it's really all the same! It's just the language aspect of it all) & any other U.S. hits that seep over into Canada for now, hehe.
... I still have an hour left. Tick tock.
P.S. I've always really liked the Euro coin. Canadian currency is just so drab.
