- Sometimes only a golden (little bit) oldie will make a week slightly better. This week, only Agnetha and Sometimes When I'm Dreaming would do, and the beautiful video is above for your viewing pleasure...
- Credit crunch hits work - lots of lay offs. Not me, but i feel guilty keeping my job and telling lots of colleagues they don't have a job anymore is HEINOUS...
- Someone pulled out of a junction without looking and smashed into parents car and didn't even stop! Car wrecked, the folks ok (or so I thought)...
- 2 days later, mom ends up in hospital with delayed shock or something. Her lips had swollen up to comical levels too! She looked like Leslie Ash! Luckily she is ok again now too...
- Book trauma. Sorted. Is coming soon. Just not quite how i originally anticipated but Disco Lemonade is on it's way!
- Bea Arthur died :(
- Girls Aloud are on a break. The singles boxset does feel like the end of an era. They will be back. Cherevyl has to make a solo r'n'b album. Which will probably be on a par with the never released second posh spice rap influenced album. Oy gevalt.
- At the pub last night a woman (I use the term lightly) rushed into the men's bathroom where i was urinating and yelled "I need some b** roll for my gash!" The b-word slang for toilet is my least favourite word in the history of english language. And i am reliably informed if a woman has been to the toilet, she wouldn't need to wipe her gash because she doesn't pee or poop from that bit. Repugnant.
- Good things happened this week too - Mcfly were brillo in their up close and personal concert in Wolves on Tues. Falling in Love and Last Song are bloody amazing live. As was their cover of The Promise. I was the oldest non-parent there. Didn't care :) Adem and PPG would have DIED :)
Top 21 songs of the week:
Ah check out James Leon's Purple Heart above. It's quite lovely. Not in my chart because i've been playing it non stop for a while, but if you haven't checked it out already please do so now :) Ta. Weirdly stagnant chart week, got lots of new music (much that have blogged about) but been lazy and not uploaded to archos so will have to wait til next week as not listened to it that much!

ReplyDeleteWhat a horrible week. Hope your folks are now doing better :( People seem to be losing jobs left right and centre dont they? Alistair Darling's budget has really helped the situation hasn't it (Sarcasm!)
ReplyDeleteI loved agnetha's covers album, thought it was absolutely lovely and actually now you mention it, Elouise reminds me of that album.
I really need to familiarize myself with most of the girls from ABBA's solo work.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about what your parents went through :( I hope they're both feeling much better.
Ha ha, I probably would have died. You need to tell us more! Or this is OK. More would be welcome, though. I'm so glad it seems like they've realized how good "Falling In Love" is. I saw it on the Radio 1 playlist and was surprised--I didn't think it was a "real" single, just sort of a DVD promoting thing, so seeing it get any sort of radio play (even C-list) was nice, even if it's more to sell something else than to sell the single.
Bobpops - i know :( I love her in Mame, it doesn't get more caustic than when she sang Bosom Buddies :(
ReplyDeleteBen - yeah it wasn't a great week. Still Agnetha at any time is utterly amazing, and you are right. Elouise is like a modern day Agnetha!
PPG - thanks :) They are both doing ok now! And McFly! Well i will probably get around to doing more, even if it is just via email :P Anyway, it was great, and I am thrilled to see that Falling In Love has gotten radio one play. Can't wait for the dvd...
Sorry you've had a crap week so far. Hopefully it will drastically improve. I hope your parents are OK!
ReplyDeleteOk - Too much Info!
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear that your parent's are OK! - Hopefully your workmates will cope Ok.
I'm sure I'll probably kick myself for not getting that box-set, but hey - Credit Crunch....
I'm just glad that GA are staying together!
Oh no! Sorry to hear about your parents! Goodness! Sending positive thoughts!!
ReplyDeleteThe GA Boxset looks so cute! I'm sure you'll get your money's worth of it. Positive.
Yuri - it probably has gotten better, however i've allowed myself to wallow so i haven't really noticed :P
ReplyDeleteAaron - well you should know by now i have no shame when it comes to sharing information with the world!!
Will - well they are ok now, just a bit weepy (mom) with it all! And yay, i can't wait for it to arrive. it will be lovely!
