Introducing Shane Stevens:

Ladies and gentlemen, he may not have met a sleeveless shirt he didn't love, but when not showing off his guns, Shane Stevens is a bonafide, burgeoning music talent that you should be keeping an eye on. His debut single, Back To Earth, is a country tinged pop-rock affair that is built around sumptuous piano chords, a distinctive & confident vocal, a real knack for melody and a chorus that grabs you from the onset before pulling you inevitably deeper into the song. It's all about that soaring feeling you get when your life feels so much more jubilant when you are young & in love. The production of the music appropriately mirrors the optimistic, joyous lyrical content and there are some cracking "whoa=ho=ho" as backing ad libs as the song draws far too early to a close. A fine taster then from his upcoming EP and ooo, look - there's a video. Here's one of my tongue in cheek breakdowns of what is occurring visually...
  • Shane is in bed (hurrah!) in a sleeveless top. He is clearly just waking up because he does the human version of a cat licking itself by giving his face a good ol' rub to bring itself to life...
  • He gets up dead quick like, in an "oooo i've completely overslept and now i'm going to be late all the live long day" sort of way. It's clearly the morning after a bit of a shin dig, as his place is a right mess. Lets hope that this isn't how he always keeps the place or he will be needing to hire the services of a maid. Or one of those naked butler fellas. I plump for the latter personally.
  • Blimey! Shane is wolfing down his breakfast. I think it's cheerios, but I could be mistaken. It might be rice crispies. He is going to get indigestion at this rate and then he will have to stop off to get some Rennies.
  • He has a good scrub of his teeth. He is quite a vigorous brusher, until he clearly remembers some pleasant memory from his shin dig as he pauses, brush in mouth, and has a little smile to himself. No flossing though... :D
  • Shane may be the only waiter in the entire universe who walks to work with such a spring in his step. Frankly, I would walk with a spring in my step if I looked that good after a boozy party. I usually look like crap :(
  • Shane slightly leers over some very happy looking couple then decides that life is too short to be waiting on other happy looking couples when he could be part of a happy looking couple himself. he throws his apron on the floor (litter bug!) and some quite fierce looking woman (think Joan Ferguson from Cell Block H) runs after him.
  • She gives him a proper finger wagging (this is not a euphamism)! I almost expected her to start shaking her fist at the sky. I suspect that she is telling him that he is breaking all sorts of employment laws by walking off the job like that. And if he thinks he's getting the denim jacket back he's clearly forgotten, well then he's very much mistaken :)
  • Shane has now changed. He is in a cardigan and a nice stripey t-shirt. When I wear a cardigan, I look like Roy Cropper (google him), so must take some style tips. He is jolly happy and pleased with himself.
  • A pair of boobs float past the screen at about 1m50s!! Some girls are snogging in the street...
  • Shane looks a bit "aww, i want to be snogging in the street" at this. He does wistful well. It makes you want to give him a hug, chuck him on the chin and go "buck up there soldier!"
  • Ooo, maybe he knew I was thinking that because what follows is a bit of "yay life, yay me, yay my cardigan and amazing cheekbones" moment as he throws his hands in the air (but doesn't wave them round like he just don't care)...
  • Shane is so lost in the moment that he doesn't notice two burly security guards chasing after some miscreant. Or assassin! Yes i bet it was a ninja assassin... how exciting the streets of New York can be :)
  • In fact, Shane is just oblivious to anything that isn't the thought of his special someone. He practically ruins a marathon and ignores a mime. This is all well and good, even romantic when it takes place in a video, but i accidentally wandered into the path of a marathon once and you would have thought i had stolen a baby from the ferocious reaction I got!!
  • He is now on a rooftop, the sun is shining, he is spinning around (Kylie) and having a right good singalong. However, he keeps checking his phone that looks like a cassette tape and I am scared that his special someone won't turn up... the goons!
  • HURRAH! They did turn up :) Phew. Although you don't get to see their face. BAH. Perhaps it will be continued in the next video???
