Single Selection: The Overtones ~ Say What I Feel

Hurrah! There is nothing more pleasing than the hardworking Overtone fellas hitting the promotional trail. I've written about their new single, Say What I Feel (written = gushed enthusiastically), a few times already but it's finally out as a proper single and they have been busy showing off their latest cravat and bow tie purchases (hint = check out camden market for some excellent vintage - or pre-loved items as I like to say - couture), funky dance moves and general hair excellence on our tv screens. For your viewing pleasure, here are a couple of my faves...

Exhibit One ~ Live on This Morning:

I love the Schofe I do. I love that like me he is embracing his greyness. Though he can barely get a word in edgeways with Holly yapping on in the clip above, he seems genuinely pleased to have the Overtones in the studio. As you would be. Here are some of the salient points you need to know about this performance:

• Mark's chinos are utterly amazing. His button up jacket isn't half bad either...
• Timmy's teeth are blindingly white. His bow tie matches the one in my twitter pic!
• There's quite a pleasing Lachie charm offensive going on at exactly the one minute marker...
• The lights behind the boys will scorch your retinas off if you look at them too long at the wrong moment. BEWARE :D
• Darren is like a young Blake Carrington in his polo neck-suit combo (which probably makes Mike Dex Dexter!!)

Exhibit Two ~ Live on Alan Titchmarsh:

I love Alan Titchmarsh I do. He writes smutty books, does gardening and has his own tv show. Plus my mom absentmindedly refers to him as Alan Titmunch. Good lord. He makes more of an effort than Phil and shakes each toning hand while the audience whoop appreciatively. Here are some slightly different salient points you need to know about this performance:

• Lachie's quiff continues to be one of the most impressive hair control specimens in recent history...
• I'm loving Mike's glasses. I need a new pair myself and as ever, using one of The Overtones as a style guide can't steer me far wrong surely?
• (Sidebar your honour - I had a dream about Mike and his cravat after I saw this performance, which I won't/can't (!) go into detail about here :D)
• Timmy's bow tie is bigger than the This Morning appearance.
• Nice tie clip, Mark!
• Coolest pose goes to Darren just a few seconds before the end of the song...

Exhibit Three ~ Live on The National Lottery:

I don't always love the National Lottery. It depends whether I win or not and to be fair, the balls haven't been kind to me lately. I'm barely scraping a tenner here or there. Anyway, there are some subtle differences in the most recent performance that by now you will be chomping at the bit to be aware of...

• Timmy looks very tanned doesn't he? He has also opted for a nice pink tie this time around. It's good to mix things up I say...
• Excitement! There are some funky swapping mics (not Mikes as I originally wrote) moves as the boys shimmy their fine selves around the stage. Splendiferous!
• Much like Lachie, I am really appreciating the comeback of pocket squares.
• There are not enough Darren-Mark close ups in this appearance, but I do like the colour of Mark's jacket...
• (And it goes without saying that Darren looks resplendent in a suit)...
• Ooo the winning numbers! Oh. I didn't win. Bah.

Random Overtone thoughts...

• There is an Australian release forthcoming of Good Ol' Fashioned Love which will include new songs. *SCREAM* Soon, i'll be able to split the collection of songs from the album into a "two disc set"! Aces...
• There is a lovely interview with the boys done by Pip at EntFocus. I like Pip at EntFocus I do. He is always effortlessly charming and has a nice collection of v neck sweaters and checked shirts.
• A second album is due out later this year - in the meantime the boys really should do a cover of new Madonna song Give Me All UR Luvin. Imagine how immensicles that would be...
