I love a bit of Alphabeat I do. And Alphabeat love pop music. It's a match made in heaven. The group have successfully provided the world with pop that shakes up the expectation of those cynical of it's value, and forced them to delve deeper. Their brand of pop is always textured, layered, respectful of the past but definitely fresh and exciting (see greatest hits proposal below). Nowhere is this more evident than on their sparkling new single, Love Sea. Now, uptempo songs with "love" in the title are generally pretty phenomenal (see Love Machine, When Love Takes Over, Love Game, et al) and Love Sea is no less amazing than these beloved tracks. Set over a joyous, percolating beat, it's a sparkling tune that sees Anders SG & Stine take joint lead as they celebrate that delicious feeling that is fresh love. Their voices intertwine like honey, the music providing a vivacious & energetic backdrop to the musical alchemy that they naturally create. It's impossible to feel bad when listening to this song & that ridiculously catchy, feel-good chorus (with whoo-hoo-ooos!) will stick with you long after the song has finished. An absolute triumph.

Despite only being two albums into their career, it's evident that the Alphabeat gang aren't interested in creating filler. Each album already sounds like a greatest hits collection, so pop their singles onto an mp3 mix folder and you've got a winning combination that will keep you shimmying all the live long day. Hurrah!
