Trevor Page is a young fella who clearly loves pop. He's turned this life long love affair into a collection of tunes (mostly self penned, performed and produced) that showcase his powerful voice, but never at the expense of letting melody, catchy chorus, kicky hooks & forward thinking production values taking second place. Rather, it's a complementary blend of all these elements that create some rather quirky, unique and memorable songs. You also get the impression that with a bit of money behind him he could turn this songs into a high concept stage show designed to delight and dazzle the senses. Here are two of his best that you should keep an eye out for...
- Extra Extra ~ For those of you expecting a conventional pop ditty at this point, prepare to be surprised. Extra Extra is set over a galloping, off kilter beat & matched with some No Doubt-esque sizzling electro backing to give it some added sparkle. Aside from the obvious, there are at least 2 other hooks going on in the song & while it does seem a little jarring at first, it soon inviegles it's way into your synapses and refuses to let you go. PS - the middle 8 is like a mini Bond tune within a tune and shows how brilliant the young chap's voice can actually be...
- Dancing On The Edge ~ Trevor worked with the very talented Gabe Lopez on this track and the results are dancefloor nirvana as a fuzzy, assertive electro-guitar riff drives the track forward. Alongside a percussive beat, Trevor's voice ably guides the tune & melody of the song, which matches rapid fire delivered verses to a soaring chorus - encouraging you to live life a little dangerously & let yourself go. It's a throbbing, pleasing pop monster and one that deserves to be huge. I fully approve ;)
Love Trevor!!
