Video Analysis: Eric Saade ~ Coming Home

I've written lots about the new Eric Saade music (which you can read here, here and here) which I am finding quite pleasing :) And hurrah, the always reliable and visually stimulating young fella has a brand new video out to accompany his latest single. Bonza. This is the downlow on what is happening in the clip above...
  • The video opens with Eric (in quite nice trainers) having a little sleep on the beach. He will no doubt get sand in his unmentionables. I think he is having a little bit of a dream as well because there are weird, fuzzy images flashing across the screen. Either that or I'm having a seizure...
  • Eric gets up and has sand all over his face. It actually acts as a really good exfoliator which is probably how he gets his skin looking as soft as a baby's bottom...
  • Meanwhile, what I can only presume is Eric's lady friend is having a much more luxurious sleep in her bra and knickers in a sumptuous bed. She wakes up looking perfect. This never happens to me (although sometimes my bed hair looks better than my normal hairstyle so I keep it that way)...
  • Eric continues to wander around the sand dunes. This is interspersed with shots of Eric in a rather pristine white shirt. WHICH HE WEARS VERY WELL :P jus' sayin'
  • (I also like how the white shirt looks like he is wearing braces but actually he is not :) It's just the design).
  • Eric is obviously trying to get home to his lovely lady friend and in his rush to do so, is rushing across the dunes getting a bit sweaty. He flings off his jacket with a graceful ease that only a good dancer can muster. He ditches the jacket on the beach (the litter bug) for some lucky person to find and continues on his quest...
  • 1m18 - while anytime IS the time for Eric to be wearing what we call in England a vest (but Americans call a wifebeater for some inexplicable reason), it is NOT the time for Eric to be playing roly poly down the sand dunes. He'll end up wrecking those nice trainers he's got on and get a mouthful of sand that will linger for ages...
  • SYMMETRY! When Eric is being scorched by the sun, Lady Friend takes a nice ice cold glass of water. When Eric is taking off those nice trainers and running into the sea, Lady Friends ditches the panties and has a nice refreshing shower. She certainly got the easy end of the stick in this video shoot, n'est pas?
  • Eric is having a nice little swim. He's like a modern day Prince Eric from Disney's The Little Mermaid. Miraculously he ends up in a swimming pool - not sure how that happened, but perhaps it is magic. Eric is no normal human as we already know. Perhaps being made of pop allows him to teleport at will.
  • (Two notes - firstly, Eric's dancing in his nice white shirt deserves more uninterrupted time. Secondly, Eric in a wet t-shirt?! Works for me :D)
  • The scantily clad ladeez around the pool that Eric has just emerged from seem quite non-plussed that a strange man has magically appeared in their (lady?)garden. They just all give him the Lusty Eyeball and allow him to run dripping wet into the house. I'd have insisted on squeegying him dry first myself, but I pride myself on being an accommodating host :D
  • MORE SYNERGY! As Eric gets dressed in some perfectly pressed clothes laid out for him on the bed, Lady Friend is popping on something more comfortable herself. What Lady Friend doesn't get is men throwing themselves at her, but Eric gets the ladeez of the house practically pawing at him like a bitch in heat...
  • ...He resists in one of the most brilliant sleight of hands since Adam rejected Sammy Jo in Dynasty (Yes I'm that old :D) (2m45s)
  • The moral of the story is that Eric can be stranded, covered in salty liquids (oo-er) and tempted by totty, yet he will always remain true to where his heart is. What a guy eh? And he once again gets to drive a snazzy car...
  • Eric is now also a pilot. Mans Zelmerlow will be pleased. I'm amazed that the pilot headphones even make a dent in his hair but perhaps the make up crew used a little less gel than usual :P
  • Lady Friend makes a paper plane out of a magazine page (I hope everyone had read it) and flies it across the room just as Eric is flying home to her! It's like the plot of some high budget hollywood movie :)
  • AND ACTUALLY IT IS! It's all gone a bit Lost! Eric has crashed and is back on the island. Is he stuck in some massive temporal loop that has him repeating the day over and over again? Does the island keep calling him back?! This might even be worse than when he got his noggin chopped off in Masquerade...
  • Good video though :)
