Video Breakdown: Adam Whittington ~ Dare To Dream

I am loving this rousing, uplifting, optimistic pop anthem by pop-dude-in-waiting Adam Whittington. Young Adam has actually had five singles out already, but Dare to Dream is the first one I've caught up on. And what a percolating little treat it is too. Set over a throbbing, electro-synth saturated bassline, Adam has the job of carrying the pop melody amidst the swirling dance production - and a fine job he does with it. He carries the positive, life-affirming lyrics through the verses, letting his voice soar during the chorus - all allowing for a genuinely inviting, sing-along track. So not only do you get to shimmy from start to finish, but you get to feel motivated by it all too! Win! An acoustic piano-vocal version of this track would be a dream btw! (Note - since I first heard this track back in the Olympic fuelled summer months of last year, Adam has chopped off his floppy blonde locks and gone for a more One-Man Direction look that seems to have pleased his ever growing fanbase. Ladies and fella loving fellas will be pleased :D He's also made a video for the song and here - in frighteningly scary detail :P - is what happens)...
  • Adam is at a radio station having a bit of a natter with the on air host. I'm a bit perturbed that the host doesn't really give Adam much eye contact, but perhaps he has seen a snickers bar on the other side of the room and thought "ooo yes. I'll get me some of that". That would TOTALLY distract me :)
  • While Adam is in the studio doing his "thang" (and wearing nice glasses - I need a new pair and quite like the look of those!), there are some interspersed shots of lots of young ladeez getting out of a limousine. The instruction seems to have been "wear black, wear boots and show belly". I can do 2 of these three things (no-one needs to see my 1 pack)...
  • Adam emerges after said young ladeez and is instantly mobbed by lots of screaming tweens. They are holding posters of his floppy hair look which only go to prove that, like Justin Beiber before him, Adam done gone look good with a bit of a hair do :)
  • Hurrah! Dance routine alert! I do enjoy a good dance routine :) It's a fairly accessible routine too which is important when you are trying to strut your stuff at the high school dance ;)
  • Fashion assessments! I like Adam's top in the recording booth. I like Adam's waistcoat (vest if you are American/Canadian/Not British!) at the radio station. And the fans seem to love what us Brits would call a tank top, but for some inexplicable reasons Americans call a "wifebeater". Luckily Adam seems to have been doing some weights because you can't pull off the bare arms look if you have saggy flabby man-arms...
  • What a nice chap. Adam has taken the young ladeez to a fun fair where they can eat as much cotton candy as their shiny white teeth will allow. Make sure you floss afterwards, otherwise you will get a cavity. And dentists are awful aren't they (unless you know one or are one, and then of course you are the most lovely exception to the rule)? I never know where to look when in the dentist chair. Dentist's eyes? Hygienist's name badge? The blinding light?!
  • Adam is obviously either a social butterfly or an incourigable flirt. His scenes in the fairground are like a montage from some ABC Family show where he shoots, scores and wins prizes while his adoring posse hang on his every word. He is so BMOC :)
  • There are actually some great "on stage" montages of Adam - it's clear to see that this is his passion and (as the sweat evidences :P) he pours himself fully into his stage performances so that the audience get to appreciate every second...
  • There is a bit of hip thrusting going on around the 3 minute mark. There is a much bigger solo hip thrust at the 3m11s mark, which was preceded by some Vogue hand movements. Love a bit of diversity in a dance routine, I do :)
  • The important thing to note is that after all the exuberant singing and flirting, Adam still has maintained his pop star hair! HURRAH!
