Levi Kreis - Any Way You Wanna
Check out Levi's official site here
I was sitting at my desk pretending to work yesterday when in all actuality I was listening to Larry Flick's The Jolt on Sirius OUTQ Radio (said in radio jingle sexy deep voice mode). Amidst a selection of brilliant songs, I heard one that transported me away thanks to it's evocative groove and seductive lyrics. You know when you've had a tough day at the office, you come home shirt sleeves pushed up, tie loosened and all you want to do is sink into the comfort of a luxurious bubble bath? You decide to add some Patchouli Oil - a little because you want to smell like Madonna's Like A Prayer, a little because you want to shake up the familiar with some new and exciting? Bliss. Levi Kreis' addictive new song Any Way You Wanna is that song - a glorious fusion of the familiar with the contemporary to stimulate your senses and lift your spirits. There's a definite vibe of decadent Studio 54 disco realness in that pulsating instrumental score that positively drips with Giorgio Moroder decadance and inspires the listener to grab the one they love and shimmy (hard). The percolating groove and effusive electro synths are like pop manna from heaven - combine this with some celestial keyboard riffs and you have the perfect setting for Levi's truly engaging vocal. The narrative focuses on the liberating nature of letting your guard down and just being yourself - Levi sings with a mesmerising exuberance that absolutely brings the joy back to pop music. It's entirely infectious too as it lifts your spirits more than any endorphin rush, leaving the listener with a huge smile on their face and a satisfied glow about their aura. There's also a smooth soulful quality to Levi's voice that sounds glorious and helps the already addictive refrain fly even higher during that compelling chorus. It's exactly the type of song that radio should be embracing - a celebration of exquisite song composition that stands out alongside this compulsion to focus on EDM tracks that feel scant on creativity & melody. Any Way You Wanna embraces a classic pop song structure that ironically makes it feel fresh and vibrant in today's music charts. And trust me, Levi Kreis could sing about love all day because in his hands (voice) love never felt so good...
(PS, he's a tall drink of water, n'est pas?)
