I always give rapturous thanks whenever THANKS release new music. The former Alphabeat boys continue their commitment to top notch, quality pop on their brand new single, I Can Get. This (10,000 nights of) thundering funk-soul gem is fueled by compelling beats, a seductive rhythm and a sexual swagger that will give you the moves like Jagger each and everytime you hear it. The super slick electro-production is enhanced by the alluring vocals of Christian Vium (of Go Go Berlin); a man whose voice commands the melody with such soulful intensity that I felt the urge to french kiss my headphones (the falsetto gives you a funny feeling of lust in your girded loins, that is for sure)! The juxtaposition of a gravelly rock voice against the euphoric, finger clicking vibe and layered pop backing vocals make for a delicious experience that you are immediately immersed into. Everything coalesces to give the listener an invigorating, all consuming groove that makes you want to grab the one you love (or the one you are with) and shimmy. HARD. If it feels like the type of song that should accompany the inhibition-freeing, balmy summer nights, you would be well within your rights to shake your groove thang into the early hours of the morn. That exhilarating middle 8 is worth the price of admission alone - and by the time the final run through of the chorus rolls around you are waving your hands to the sky in emphatic testimony of the message they preach. A song about the feelings of love, lust and sexual desire should seek to replicate those emotions through the combination of voice, instrumental and production - this song casts a pretty powerful spell in doing just that.
