Weekend Supplement ~ June 2nd 2012: Summer TV!

Summer. I'm down with that thing. And when I get away I like to do the wild thing. Truer and wiser words were ne'er spoken. Sigh. I miss The Party (see above). And once I'm done having the life of riley in Gran Canaria, I shall be home sipping Pimms on my patio before late night watching summer tv. Sigh. Summer tv. It's ace isn't it? No longer are the best shows saved for the "fall season". They proliferate the summer like sweaty crotches and dripping ice creams. Yay. Here are some of the best... (I am missing any)?

  • Dallas ~ *SCREAM* It's not even a reimagining. Nope, it's actually a continuation of the Dallas story (but not in a Knots Landing way where Bobby is still dead) and the shower scene poster teasers have me salivating for the show to start. Ten whole new episodes? Amaze. If it's a hit can someone please bring back Dynasty, Falcon Crest and Dangerous Women??!
  • Teen Wolf ~ Was their a buzzier, more enjoyable show last summer (maybe! See below!) Strapping young men getting all wolfy with a healthy dose of Buffy style humour and plotline. Can't wait to see where season 2 leads... and not a bloody vampire in sight!!
  • Awkward. ~ *uncomfortable pause* "Thank you* Ooo MTV's amazingly well written comedy is back and now that Jenna knows her wrote her the mean letter (matricide beckons), it's gonna get interesting. Like you're totally not gonna watch!
  • Pretty Little Liars ~ I'm loving ABC Family's decision to broadcast their shows in 2 segments across the year. I love a juicy mid season cliff hanger. Hopefully season 3 will bring more "A", more Ezra and more salacious scandals...
  • Bunheads ~ It's a new dramedy from the creator of the Gilmore Girls that isn't a 2 episode then yanked comedy for Fox! Aces. This is set in Vegas. And involves showgirls. And Amy Sherman-Pallidino. How can it go wrong?!
  • True Blood ~ OK I'll allow vampires for this one. And werewolves. And shapeshifters. And ghosts. And fairies. And more buff topless fellas. And Christopher whatsit from Oz is now in it! Magnifico
  • Fallen Skies ~ It was all quite serious, this alien invasion drama, but it got jolly good by the end of the first year so I'm deffo returning to see more mythology unfold. And watch Noah Wyle's beard get even more out of control...
  • Drop Dead Diva ~ ZOMG! Grayson knows! And Jane is on a plane to Paris! And Joan Rivers is guesting! A riot every week it's on with eminently loveable characters. And dudes looking good in suits. What more could you wish for on a steamy summer's eve?!
  • Weeds ~ Oh sure, it may not be as good as it was, but who is gonna miss out on finding who got shot, by who and why??!
  • RuPaul's Drag U/All Stars ~ SICKENING!
