The Tailormade - Suit Up

Regular followers of this blog will know that I like a nicely suited fella. Call me shallow but it certainly draws me eye to any music act who are nicely turned out ;) Colour me even more delighted then to find that not only busking superstars The Tailormade are a bunch of dapper chappies but have the added bonus of having this deliciously cheeky pop tune Suit Up that is quite magnificent. The lads are a romantic bunch at heart with the song being all about how their respective lovers are the apple of their individual eyes, how making an effort to look a percentage as good as their other halves seem to effortlessly achieve is a sign of their devotion. It all starts as an ingratiatingly charming acoustic track with clever lyrics that play on the suave elegance of being suited and booted as well as being suited to their paramour. The textured vocal moments are delightfully layered while the lead singer is a) quite a dish and b) never less than effusively engaging with his ability to command attention and guide the mellifluous melody forward. At the end of the first verse it then bursts into this vibrant percussive groove with a chorus as enormous and endearing as all out doors. There's genuinely not one part of this song that doesn't have you singing along all the live long day, grinning from ear to ear at it's feel good vibes and ebullient energy. It's like nothing you would hear at the moment in the charts or on radio but is absolutely the breath of fresh air that feels needed - there's this vibe of the guys being 3 mates who are just doing exactly what they love (and doing it pretty darn tooting well). As if all that wasn't enough there's an equally ace video to accompany it with plenty of merriment and mirth to be enjoyed throughout. I hope more new music/covers are coming from the boys - if they are ever in Brum the beers are on me :D
